King Hyperion (Rourke) seeks to free the godlike Titans and challenge the Greek gods, led by Zeus (Luke Evans). Forbidden from direct interference in human affairs, Zeus hopes that Theseus (Cavill) can save the day.

The 300 comparisons for this ultra-styled, ultra-violent Greek epic are inevitable, but this is more expansive, embracing mythology and abandoning historical fidelity in favour of flights of grotesque fancy. By some distance Tarsem’s most coherent and commercial film to date, the tale of Theseus (an impressively heroic Cavill) fighting an overwhelmingly evil force led by Rourke’s Hyperion to avoid a war in the heavens largely makes sense (unlike, say, The Cell) and the breathtaking costumes and design feel helpful rather than overwhelming (unlike, at times, The Fall). It all looks so beautiful and bizarre that odd moments will stay with you long afterwards, and while the plot feels as though it’s scissored up and patched back together in a few places, it will leave you wanting more, and optimistic about Tarsem’s Snow White.

I was looking forward to this film. What a waste of my time. Only one star...the action at the end was good, I cant even remember much of the film now....... So that goes to show the impact it had. I've had more entertainment watching. The Empire reviewer Helen ------ only gave Wrath of the Titans 2 stars,,,, and this 3.... The world is going mad! ... More

Pleasantly Surprised
The titans weren't very titanic were they..? Just looked like they needed a good wash is all.... That aside, I quite enjoyed this. It was a cross between 300 and the remake of Clash of the Titans... for better or worse. Henry Cavill was solid, which bodes well for Superman! ... More

I was pleasantly surprised by Immortals and found it great entertainment! Much better than Snyder's lame 300 or the even lamer Clash of the Titans. It may be style over substance but I've always liked Singh's style and would happily watch this numerous times! ... More

Visually stunning but...
what is wrong with Hollywood? Why do they want to do a movie based on a myth when they dont follow anything but a few random names of heroes. I know its a bit of a late review but i refused to go to the cinema and watch it because i knew that i will be dissapointed as i was with the Clash of Titans. I dont know where to begin from... Surprise Surprise
My god the trailer for this was awful and I instantly decided not to bother with it based on that reason but when there were limited choice at my cinema dew to certain films not being distributed there I gave into my boredom and went to see it and Surprise it was decent enough. This movie reminded me of Naomi Campbell - visually stunning but totally shallow. That's not to say it wasn't fun at times - Rourke takes hamming it up to a new level and Ares really knows how to make an entrance! - but there wasn't really anything we hadn't seen already so many times before. L: Cruisecontroller It`s stunning to watch, very LOUD (bring ear plugs) and some of the helmets and sks are unintentionally funnydons head gear is very Princess Leia and those outfits the Oracle and her female friends have and priests with lighted candles on there heads are just daft. They might have been modelled on a graphic novel or costumes of the time I`m not sure but they make it hard to take the film seriously. Good but the story could have been better. 3/5 ... More

Thought the movie was ok overall. Firstly the 3D is ok if you like that kind of thing doesn't add or detract form the film ( pain in the arse if your local cinema doesn't give you an option though) The plot skips along at a hectic pace often jumping over bits of plot you have to fill in yourself. There are some nice set pieces but the all important rousing speech bit is nearly like a Monthy Python sketch. ....and there is a nagging feeling that things would have work... More
