31 North 62 East (15) Plot The Prime Minister of Britain is accused of betraying the location of an elite SAS unit for political gain.Review Having exposed the contamination of in-flight air in the documentary Welcome Aboard Toxic Airlines, Tristan Loraine turns his attention to the dirtiness of warfare in this thuddingly boorish thriller. Stuffed with plot but bereft of characterisation, the wilfully obscure action hurtles along, as Heather Peace seeks to divulge how prime minister John Rhys-Davies sold out her soldier sister in Afghanistan to save a vote-winning £80 billion arms deal.
The overriding tone is that of a bargain-basement ’70s actioner, right down to the risible songs on the soundtrack. The cast struggles with the tired dialogue, while the ease with which the conspiracy collapses is frankly incredible. Verdict Messy and curiously dated in tone. This fails to make you care about the convoluted plot, with ill-drawn characters.

| How did this rubbish ever make it to the cinema! | | | Saw this at the weekend (26th Sept) and it was so crap I had to share my thoughts!!
Expecting something exciting, with lots of action and anticipation - I really should have stayed at home and watched the tumble dryer. This movie should be used as a 'what not to do' example for media studies students. Dire, boring, dull, amateurish are just some words that go some way to sum up this nonsense.
Very little could pass for realistic or believable. The primeminister's ac... Read More

| | | | RE: Empire, too generous... | | | I actually saw this at the Cannes Film Marche in May. So I've had plenty of time to think about it 'Hardybabe' I agree with LoisLane too, you're obviously related to the film in some way - seriously how can you think this is any good?

Having rang the distributor today and discovered there has only been one press screening ever of the relase version of the film, and that was last night in Belfast....I wonder what film LoisLane or sammo2 actually saw. ... Read More

| | | | RE: 31 North 62 East | | This forum quite interesting as there are a bunch of 31 north insiders trying to big up the film when its clearly a pile of you know what. I found a link to a website where interestingly the director is saying that this film was just being used to finance another film and his backers wanted him to prove that he could get this one to the cinema, which is absolutely outstanding that he’s managed to get a distribution deal on it at all, but generally this is not how the industry works. He also say... Read More

| | | | RE: Empire, too generous... | | OMG - I saw this film at Chichester. It was just awful, the script was dreadful, a number of people walked out. The editing was way off the mark it didn't have any pace and looked like it had been edited by an absolute beginner. After the script writers the film editor is the most important part of the team, most of the best editors have spent years editing tv drama before moving into film but whoever edited this should be strung up and never hired again, In my opinion this is where it really f... By your comments you imply there is some massive discovery in that I am a member of AOPIS. It's not a secret organisation you know. I am a member of the RAC as well! So what? There are over 55,000 other cabin crew worldwide who are members of AOPIS. If I want to use my email account with them at least it shows I have nothing to hide. Why do others on this site not post under their real name?
