Tormented
British bullying drama

submit to reddit

Plot
A gang of school bullies torment an overweight, asthmatic nerd to the brink, the result of which is his suicide. The story doesn't end here, though, as he comes back as a zombie ghost to terrorise the gang who drove him to taking his life. Expect lots of brutal murders.

Review
Tormented

This transplants the cutthroat teen movie ethos of Heathers or All The Boys Love Mandy Lane to Britain then has a lot of cynical, gruesome fun punishing horrible sixth-formers. A fat, bullied teenage suicide returns from the grave to inflict gory justice on his persecutors. It has patches of credible writing and good acting, but often ditches subtlety to depict flamboyant teen tyrants (Alex Pettyfer and April Pearson are supremely hateful) who fully deserve over-the-top deaths. It doesn’t bother much with establishing rules for its supernatural menace or stitching together set-pieces with anything but Sellotape, but it’s consistently funny in a painful way.

Verdict
British bullying drama that takes comedy to painful lengths.

Found It To Be Good

I looked at this thinking, yep it's going to be a chav movie with lots of sex and hardly any violence or story to follow through. Instead it was a enjoyable ride, the characters shown are horrible and you want them to suffer a gruesome death. Yes there is some grisly moments but it works, the pefomances are good from a upcoming cast and it's not too overlong. It's not a brainbuster, just a good ninety minute or so movie to watch without having to think too much. ... More

Was expecting a silly chav movie but it turned out to be quite good, mostly because the chavs get killed in it. Give it a chance. ... More

Grange bloody Hill

Full of annoying cliched characters, not scary in the least, Monty Python squirting blood, Chris Tate from Emmerdale and school kids in their early 20's. I suppose it's no worse than what we might expect from our Horrorwood cousins over the Pond, but erm.....why bother? ... More

AWKWARDLY FUNNY

Saw this late on friday night and the cinema was full of teenage, half-pissed neds with nothing better to do than carry on and show off in front of their girlfriends, slightly distorting my judgement on this film somewhat. Nevertheless, I still found it enjoyable with it's problem being that I found myself laughing at it at what seemed like all the wrong moments? Can't quite make it's mind up whether it's supposed to be funny or frightening? Still, a pretty good night out though and worth a look... More

RE:

This is not this year's Eden Lake, be warned which to an extent the advertising campaign seems to suggest. However it is a deliciously funny, fairly cheesy yet still extremely enjoyable comedy horror. I can see why some didn't enjoy it, I think myself and my friend and another couple where the only ones in the cinema who felt this but it does pay a bit of homage to the likes of Sam Raimi and his style of film-making with 'The Evil Dead'. Don't expect a hugely intellectual and deeply physchologi... More
