The Roommate
Single White Remake?

Plot
Freshman student Sara (Minka Kelly) is assigned a new roommate, Rebecca (Leighton Meester), only to find that her new companion is not quite who she seems.

Review
The Roommate
The Roommate, or as it should probably be called, Single White Gossip Girl, focuses on the challenges of college life and whether you can truly trust who you share a small dorm room with. Minka Kelly’s Sara thinks she’s on safe ground with Leighton Meester’s Rebecca despite one or two quirks, but things quickly turn from BFF to batshit crazy stalking. The two leads (and Cam Gigandet, as Kelly’s love interest Stephen) fail to ignite the dull mishmash of thriller clichés, and the twists are laughably easy to predict. It staggers through the motions like a hungover sorority girl, never getting close to decent and never becoming so bad it’s enjoyable.

Verdict
The clichés come thick and fast in this ponderous thriller.

2 for the movie, 3 for the soundtrack

I enjoyed this also. No brains, but both leading ladies look great. Nice to see Minka Kelly after the superb Friday Night Lights. As long as you don't expect too much, this is a good trashy thriller. The soundtrack is awesome too. ... More

RE: SORRY

Sarah Matthews, a design major, is moving into her dormitory.  She goes to a frat party with some of her new friends where a guy lamely tries to pick her up.  Upon returning to her room, she finds that she has a new roommate-Rebecca.   For a brief period they become the best friends, but Rebecca seems to not only start to copy Sarah but becomes increasingly clingy and resents any time Sarah spends with anybody else.  When ... More

SORRY

Sorry I actually liked it, although predictable and filled with cliches it serves it's purpose as an ok thriller, atleast leighton meester tries too make this a good film, with some improvements too the script then this could have been a whole lot better, shame it had potential, althought its ok, if anyone out there is unsure whether too see this or not, just watch it on TV, dont waste your money, although it does prove too be an ok flick but its really one off those almost good films. ... More
