Plot
A send-up of superhero movies which charts the fortunes of a costumed crusader known as The Dragonfly.

Review

Having skewered date movies, horror movies, action movies and epic movies, it was only a matter of time before spoofers targeted the superhero movie. Co-creator David Zucker - the man who inadvertently kicked off the whole sorry mess with the actually funny Airplane! - has focused on the first Spider-Man film, with references to X-Men, Fantastic Four and Batman along the way. Spidey is now ‘Dragonfly’, his uncle is played by satire mainstay Leslie Nielsen, and the jokes include much passing of gas and walking into inanimate objects. A short running time and brisk pace make it less painful than similar fare, but on the whole this superhero spoof just doesn’t fly.

Superhero Movie

When compared to recent shite spoofs, this is excellent, which is the equivelent of saying getting punched in the face is better than getting poked in the eye. Be under no illusion this may be miles ahead of other spoofs but aside from a couple of gags here and there (mostly by Neilson) this is still bloody awful. ... More

total crap!

A parody of the superhero movies - Batman, X-Men but primarily Spiderman . Gags come thick and fast in Superhero Movie, but there isn't a decent one throughout . It might be funny if you've never seen Airplane, Hot Shots and Top Secret, but we all have at this stage, haven't we?
