Hacking Democracy (TBC) Plot Documentary about seattle grandmother Bev Harris' investigation of the US voting system and its fallibilities. Review
It’s impossible to watch this exposé of the iniquities of the US voting system with equanimity. Prompted by the disquiet she felt at George W. Bush’s victory in 2000, Seattle grandmother Bev Harris began investigating the furtive cabal of companies responsible for upholding the integrity of democracy. She not only proved procedural irregularities in a key Florida county during the 2004 Presidential race, but also how easily the top-secret software could be corrupted. The Establishment’s support for technology with demonstrable flaws raises disturbing questions about the nature of freedom in the States.Verdict Compelling and laudably non-sensationalist exposé of the corruptibility of American democracy and the complacent attitude of the ruling Republicans to the role played by unaccountable cabals.
