| There might be a good story in there... | |
| Sometimes when watching a truly horrible film (such as this one) you can almost see what the film makers wanted to achieve, but failed to. The main problem is of course the script, with inconsequent character development (no I can't do violence, wait, I can, then again no, but still maybe I can, no I can't. Oh, darn it, I'll just murder 5 policemen for the heck of it.) Then there is the seriously weird plot decisions. Why did the young bloke chicken out at the wedding? Why would it be a goo... More | |

| Nick the pricks best (not saying much) | |
| I find it hard to believe that empire gives football factory 4 stars and this 1. While not a huge fan of either this is far superior yet didnt carry the hype of FF, No one can watch this film and not acknowledge that theyve had similar thoughts at the way Britains going. ... More | |

| Empire pull the finger out!! | |
| Ok so not a great film but i have seen worse films in your mag get better ratings. It seems(almost) everyone here has the same problem with the movie and that is the shaky camera work. Although the direction was lackin i feel Danny Dyer, Sean Bean, to mention a few did the best with what they were given. Come on Empire where is the quallity Im use to from your mag? Whats happened? The Daily Mail Man write that piece? ... More | |

| An average idea poorly executed. | |
| The premise isn't terrible, yes we'd all like to see, and are entitled to some sort of effective criminal justice system in this country - but that isn't the case. The idea of a disillusioned solider coming home and finding out everything is shit is a good idea, the first scene with Sean Bean walking along pasted some youths is almost quite tense, but then the film just rushes through everything. At least Love did bother to include a couple of scenes where the 'outlaws' feel a little bit concern... More | |

| Nick Love really is one mediocre director | |
| The dialogue in this wasn't as awful as The Business, but it was still pretty crap nonetheless. This was just another one of Nick Love's geezer-moron cime flicks. He wants to be Martin Scorcese but doesn't get the irony of the criminals actions. He glorifies the actions they do just 'cos they're well 'ard'. Not to mention the fact that Danny Dyer continues his reputation as a one-trick pony. ... More | |

| If the best thing about the film is Danny Dyer not being too bad... | |
| Then you have a fucking awful film on your hands. Without being hyperbolic, this might be the worst film i've ever seen. ... More | |

| Underated | |
| I couldnt disagree with the review more. Its not art house cinema, but that doesnt mean that it does not have something interesting to say about contemporary society. Regardless of motivation (watch the making of) the film is both a creation of the times and an examination of them. Watching it as a movie, its good, watching it as a "period piece" (ill probably be laughed at for this) it s exceptional. Dante ... More | |

| Come on Empire ,get your act together. Outlaw may not be a classic by any means .The acting was quite good and the premise was spot on,o.k maybe a bit over the top and at the end of the day an enjoyable film.So for those reasons it deserves more than one star. ... More | |

| It's an OK film - watchable - just coz it doesn't have all the hollywood crap involved doesn't make it a bad film. The only thing that was really irritating was this arty farty camera work on the close ups - the constant shaking of the camera made me feel a bit queesy and didn't know if I was going to survive the film because of that alone. Sean Bean was totally brilliant! There are a lot worse films around that are raved about! ... More | |

| RE: Outlaw | |
| SPOILER Bad, mainly to be enjoyed by the kind of folk the film seems to be against. These films seem to exist to keep Danny 'Fuckin' Dyer in long trousers. And for the nice middle class director to think hes a double hard cockney kill job. Chav scum should get there comeuppance, yes, but we shouldnt have to watch a film as bad as this becuase of it. After they hammer the point they're not killers (even of a nonce!) they have a long drawn out shout out with the l... More | |

| RE: Outlaw | |
| I went to see this last night and thought it was a really good film. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but at the end of the day only the people who have bothered to see the film are entitled to comment on whether the films any good or not. I think the rating given by Empire was really harsh to be honest. I've seen worse films that have been given a higher rating. Maybe the subject matter is bit too controversial for some people or then again maybe they just think it was shit ... More | |

| ---and the point was? | |
| Having just watched this film I am still in shock. Not only was there obscene violence, but there were parts that were just so badly put together that they actually made me (and several others) laugh. The plot was thin, characters badly drawn, and no one could decide what direction to take the film in. It wasn't a gore film, but there was more than enough gore, it wasn't a thriller, though there was a lot of futile chasing, and it wasn't really about revenge. The only truly worrying or shocking... | RE: Outlaw | |
| Bad 1/5. This is a real missed opportunity and could have been one of the better action films in recent years. Instead it crawls along at a pace which makes 1 hour 40 minuets feel more like 3 hours. It seems more concerned with the emotional guilt of the gang’s violent reaction than ever really getting down to any violence. Don’t get me wrong if this were the point of the film then it may have been an interesting take on a familiar set up but unfortunately any of the guilt or emotion dwelt on e... More | |

| By no means a fantastic film but to rate it only 1 out of 5 is shambolic. I went with my friends who were all expecting a pile of pap after reading the empire review (but we have Cineworld unlimited cards so we wouldn't of wasted any money) and we were pleasantly surprised. It's probably Nick Love's weakest film to date but give it a rating lower than 'Americam Dreamz' and a lot of the other shite that gets 2 or 3 stars is just ridiculous. I'm off to do some hoodie bashing now............. not r... More | |

| RE: Outlaw | |
| You know what really annoyed me about this film? It didn't take the premise and run with it. If you are going to do a film about this subject make it over the top. I was sitting the whole time wondering where the gratatious violence and hoodie beatings were going to start. I went going in wanting to see somthing like "Death Wish 2" which is on no way a good film, but is a lot of fun on a Saturday night. Outlaw seems afraid to play with the concept. Sean Bean and his 'gang' don't att... More | |
