Review
Between 2001 and 2011, seven beloved books became eight equally obsessed-over films, and this encyclopaedic tome goes some way to explaining their success. Split into two parts — one chronicling the adaptation process each book underwent, the other focusing on the art design behind the characters, locations, creatures and props — the book is sumptuously illustrated with stills photography and concept art. You could get your fill without reading a word, but coupled with insights this is an astonishingly detailed account of the passion, talent and effort poured into the series.
