The Day After Tomorrow Roland Emmerich's super-disaster movie.

Plot Palaeoclimatologist Jack Hall (Quaid) fears that global warming could eventually precipitate another ice age but the US government won't listen. Fools. Hall is not only right, the ice age happens so fast that his estranged son (Gyllenhaal) gets trapped in NY's public library, and only his dad can save him... Verdict Watch out for the odd soggy patch/ unintentional giggle, but Emmerich's best movie does not require a storm warning. On the contrary, the outlook for summer is rather cool, with bright box office and, for once, no chance of a sequel to dampen spirits.
