Plot
The true story of Christy Brown, who was born with cerebral palsy. He learned to paint and write with his only controllable limb - his left foot.
Verdict
Writer/director Jim Sheridan, making his feature film debut, and his co-writer Shane Connaughton, haven't flinched from depicting the unhappiness and anger in Christy's life. But their rounded impression of the man leaves one with an overwhelming sense of the miraculousness of life and of this man's spirit.
