On the eve of his 40th birthday, a high-flying, mean-spirited image consultant receives an unexpected visitor, in the shape of his eight year-old self. Initially horrified by this unexplained phenomenon, it soon transpires that his younger incarnation has been shot forward in time to teach him a few important life lessons - while learning some of his own, too.
Despite its shortcomings, this is a perfectly amiable time-waster whose moralising is kept short. It’s unlikely to linger in the memory, but with a smattering of amusing set-pieces and a high feel-good factor, you’ll be glad you made the effort.
