Presumed Innocent A disappointing take on a classic whodunnit novel

Plot Deputy district attorney Rusty Sabich finds himself a murder suspect, when his lover his found with her head stoved in by a hammer. In the midst of a sea of internal politics, he finds himself short of friends, and when the case reaches court it is to the flamboyant Sandy Stern to defend him. But, then, is he innocent? Verdict The adaptation is satisfying neither for those who know Turow’s book nor to those, unaware of the final twist, who are excited by the propect of a first class produciton of a first class novel.
