Plot
Brendan (McGuire) is a young acolyte at an Irish monastery in medieval times. Under the threat of Viking raids, the Abbot (Gleeson) is preoccupied with building a wall to safeguard the Abbey – but Brendan is more interested in the illuminated manuscript that Brother Aidan (Lally) is creating, and goes in search of supplies for the Book in the dangerous forest beyond the walls.
