Detective Hoffman (Costas Mandylor) continues the work of dead mastermind John Kramer, aka Jigsaw (Tobin Bell), though the FBI are close to catching him. William Easton (Peter Outerbridge), a callous insurance company official who rejected Kramer’s healthcare claim, is the latest abductee to run a gauntlet of complicated, instructional death traps.
Not a place for newcomers to start and Mandylor isn’t as charismatic a Jigsaw presence as Bell (seen only in flashbacks), but VI gets back to Saw basics in gripping, gruesome manner. Next up, Saw VII in 3-D.
