Mild-mannered accountant Walter Mitty escapes from his humdrum existence and his mother's incessant nagging to a fantasy world where he performs acts of comic-book derring-do. However, he proves to be less of a hero when called upon to rescue Rosalind von Hoorn from the clutches of Dr Hugo Holinshead.
Fans of Danny Kaye will have a feast of entertainment but to those who find him wearying, this may grate towards the end.
