Plot 1945. US war correspondent Jake Geismer (Clooney) arrives in Berlin to cover the Potsdam Peace Conference. Shepherded around town by a genial fixer (Maguire), Geismer is pulled into a nexus of subterfuge involving the black market, V2 rockets and Geismer’s old flame (Blanchett).Verdict This should have been Soderbergh gold. Instead it is mostly unengaging and dull, proof positive that they don’t make them like they used to.
