But rather than drive him further into despair, his father's passing brings him back from the brink of suicide, giving him purpose and kickstarting a romance with air stewardess Claire (Dunst).Verdict If you've found Cameron Crowe guilty of excessive sentiment in the past, this atypically heavy-handed 'dramedy' will leave you cold. But Crowe is still a master navigator of swampy territory, and any movie that can warm the heart and tickle the funny bone without selling its soul is to be cherished, warts and all.
