The Ten Commandments DeMille takes on the biggest story ever told as Heston officially ascends to God-status.

Plot Left in the bulrushes by his Hebrew mother, raised by the Pharaoh's sister and disliked by his stepbrother Rameses (Brynner), Moses (Heston) becomes a warrior and possible future Pharaoh. However, his worldview changes when he discovers his real origins. A time spent as a slave, the Burning Bush in the Wilderness, and a magic staff and he's a man with a heavy mission, ready to lead his people out of slavery and into the Promised Land. Verdict An epic soap opera of an event - the running time is longer than any church service - that still impresses more than it amuses.
