Plot
An unnamed Dublin busker (Hansard), also a vacuum cleaner-repairman, meets an unnamed Big Issue-selling Czech girl (Irglov?, also a pianist. They start writing songs together, hoping to lay down a demo CD. But will their music prove to be the food of love?

Verdict
The year’s most pleasant cinematic surprise. Once has enough heart, wit, verve and sheer songwriting genius to ensure you’ll see it far more times than its title suggests.
