The Magnificent Ambersons Orson Welles' often overlooked other masterpiece.

Plot The story of a talented but unlikeable scion of an aristocratic family who aims to sabotage his mother's happiness but receives the come-uppance everyone wants for him. Verdict It's a tragedy that someone else' happy ending is tacked onto his tale, but the film retains enough brilliance to make us glad it's been re-released.
