As Russian soldier Vladimir Arseniev searches for the grave of Dersu Uzala, the Gold tribesman he befriended in the Siberian wilderness in 1902, he thinks back to the encounters that led to nomad's demise.
A stunningly beautiful look at the relationship between man and nature, this is one of Kurosawa's lesser-remembered films Sure, it may not have inspired any Westerns or space operas, but despite the slow pace this is worth a look.
