How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days

Plot
Andie is a columnist for a women's magazine who's assigned to 'lose a guy in ten days' by making all the classic mistakes that put new boyfriends off. Little does she know that Ben is trying to make a woman fall in love with him in ten days for a bet.


Review
Like Sex And The City, this film holds a mirror up to women and draws its laughs from exaggerated observations about their gender's foibles. Andie's attempts to sabotage her new relationship are a case in point: she starts by insisting Ben fetch her a Coke during the climax of a basketball game, then escalates into creating pictures of their future children. That Ben's efforts to make Andie fall in love are eventually confined to gritting his teeth in the face of her apparently split personality make the behavioural insight rather one-sided, however. And there's scant sign of emotional turmoil as the two gradually fall for the people they're supposed to be manipulating.

A light romance, then - but one with a few surprises and a fondness for chick-flick bashing that should endear it to young women weary of more traditional romantic comedies.


Verdict
Hudson and McConaughey are a likable pair in a light but efficient comedy that succeeds where The Wedding Planner failed.

The chemistry between Hudson and McConaughey just about stops this from being completely dire, but doesn't stop the fact that the people that they play are completely stupid. The few funny scenes are completely swamped by contrivances and a ludicrous "get-her-before-she-leaves!" finale. ... More

this movie was the most enjoyable rom-com i've ever seen, Hudson was amazing as andie anderson, the film was cliched start to finish but it was very enjoyable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... More
