Make It Happen
It's like Showgirls... for kids!

Plot
Embarking on a journey to fulfill her dreams as a dancer, a young girl discovers a new style of dance that will prove to be the source of both conflict and self-discovery.

Review
This highly derivative ‘inspirational’ dance pic is Frankensteined together from bits of Coyote Ugly, Flashdance, Step Up and 8 Mile. But it’s also basically Showgirls minus the nudity, as Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s wholesome small-town girl heads to Chicago to audition for a dance academy, only to end up writhing on stage at the world’s chastest burlesque bar, raising the hackles of the twirler she’s supplanted (Bermudez). Grindhouse’s Winstead is impossible not to warm to and she’s got some moves. But despite her charm saving the film from one-star ignominy, the directing’s lazy, the love interest is a smarmy douche and the dialogue is flatter than Winstead’s toned tummy.

Verdict
Despite Winstead's charm, the lazy directing and flat dialogue make this a bit of a damp squib.
