Ridley Scott and his The Martian filmmaking team – writer Drew Goddard and producer Simon Kinberg – recently reunited for an entirely new project. And now there's a second Martian team-up happening, again with Scott and Kinberg, but this time with author Andy Weir, who has come up with an original screenplay.

Weir, whose book was adapted into the $630.1 million, Oscar-nominated smash hit last year, had originally been working on a new book called Zhek, which was to have headed off into big sci-fi concepts such as aliens and telepathy, but he has switched to something more based in extended real science again, set in a base on the moon.

This screenplay, however, is a mystery for now, and seems unlikely to adapt either of the new book concepts. And it appears that Scott will just produce this one. It's not like he doesn't have plenty of projects to keep him busy. Especially since he recently added another potential, the aforementioned new film alongside Kinberg and Goddard, which will be a Western based on S. Craig Zahler's Wraiths Of The Broken Land.
