Though Lauren Cohan spends a lot of her working days avoiding being killed by zombies (and other humans of late) on The Walking Dead, she's also been popping up in movies. The actress has scored another job, joining Mark Wahlberg in Peter Berg's Mile 22.
The action thriller finds Wahlberg as a CIA field officer alongside The Raid's Iko Uwais playing Indonesian cop who are thrown together while transporting a compromised informant from the centre of the city to an airfield 22 miles away. En route, they have to contend with corrupt police and heavily armed locals... So it's probably a good thing that Uwais is there.
Cohan's role has not been revealed, but she joins a cast that includes John Malkovich and Ronda Rousey, in case you were wondering which movie was preparing an entry for Eclectic Casting Of The Year. Berg should have the cameras rolling later this month.
STX Film is betting big on the idea, hoping it's a hit and looking to spin off a TV series and VR project from the movie. Let's hope no one puts the cart before the horse here – didn't they see The Dark Tower? Well, not that many people saw The Dark Tower, but our point stands.
