Movie trailers occasionally take a crack at other films, especially if they're going to be up against them for a popular weekend release. So it is with John Wick: Chapter 2 and Fifty Shades Darker in the States, as the two movies will compete for the Valentine's Day crowd next weekend. See Wick's Shades-swipe below.
Yes, we can't imagine there will be a load of crossover between the two films' audience, but we'll see. As for the Wick spot, it moves on from the comparison to highlighting what the previous film, and presumably this one, does best: awesome action with Keanu Reeves looking cool.
John Wick: Chapter Two will see Reeves once again joined by Bridget Moynahan, John Leguizamo, Lance Reddick and Ian McShane. Ruby Rose, Laurence Fishburne and Common are among the newcomers, with Chad Stahelski back in the director’s chair. While it arrives on 10 February across the pond, the movie will skip V-Day over here, settling for 17 February release.
