There seems to be a theme of loneliness in space floating around at the moment, especially between the likes of Passengers and Aaron Paul and Olga Kurylenko's new project. And now there's Sovereign, which will see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as a man on a mission.

Sovereign will see Gordon-Levitt as a man whose marriage has fallen apart. When he learns that his wife and the crew of the space station she was aboard have vanished, he goes looking for her. But as he explores the seemingly deserted ship, he finds the truth about why she's gone missing and has to confront his own feelings and role in losing her love.

Marc Munden, who won plaudits for Channel 4's National Treasure, is aboard to make the movie, and has brought in Treasure screenwriter Jack Thorne to take a crack at the script that was originally by Geoff Tock and Gregory Weidman.

Gordon-Levitt will next be seen in Oliver Stone's Snowden, finally making its way here on 2 December. He's also developing a number of projects, including a Fraggle Rock movie and a musical with Channing Tatum.
