Darren Aronofsky is certainly drawing a veil of mystery around his latest, and the teaser for mother! certainly won't help pull that back much at all. But take a look anyway...
Aronofsky has rounded up a typically great cast for this one (which is supposed to be written lower case and with that exclamation point at the end, for added weirdness), including Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Domhnall Gleeson and Kristen Wiig. The basic plot synopsis is just that – basic, in that it boils down to what we already knew: "A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence." From the looks of the teaser, "disrupting" is an understatement.
The full trailer for the film is promised next week. Will that provide any answers? That itself is still a mystery. But we do know that mother! will be out in the UK on 15 September.
