In typical fashion for a CG animated film, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg's stab at the medium, Sausage Party has been in the works for a while now. Rogen is finally ready to unveil a first look at the film, which you can see in his tweet lower down the page.

Sausage Party, which has Greg Tiernan and Conrad Vernon directing a script by Rogen, Goldberg, and The Night Before co-writers Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter focuses on the unlikely existential quest of a hot dog sausage named Barry (Michael Cera) after he falls out of a shopping trolley in a store. He's worried about getting back to his aisle before the Fourth of July all because of a story he's been spun that frames foodstuffs relations to the gods they believe in. Turns out, he might just have the wrong idea about the afterlife...

In addition to Cera and Rogen on voice duty, the film features much of the This Is The End cast and a sprinkling of others including Jonah Hill, Edward Norton, Salma Hayek, Paul Rudd, James Franco, Kristen Wiig, David Krumholtz, Bill Hader, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. Sausage Party has just pencilled in a work-in-progress screening at the SXSW film fest on March 14, looking to drum up some early sizzle before hitting screens in the US and here on August 12.
