Still looking for ways to make more original series than one human can conceivably watch, Netflix has commissioned yet another show. This time it's Wu Assassins, with The Raid's Iko Uwais set to star.

Variety has learned that the new series is a crime drama set in San Francisco's Chinatown. Uwais will play Kai Jin, an aspiring chef who becomes the latest – and last – Wu Assassin, chosen to round up the powers of an ancient triad and restore balance.

John Wirth wrote the original script and will produce the show, which will also star Byron Mann. Uwais has nabbed a producer credit and will also act as lead martial arts choreographer and stunt co-ordinator for this initial run of 10 episodes. Stephen Fung, a Hong Kong cinema veteran who has spent spent part of the last few years bringing fight scenes to TV for Into The Badlands, is attached to direct the first couple of episodes.

Uwais will be back on our cinema screens in Mile 22, which arrives on 27 August.
