Now that they’ve finally committed to actually make Inferno based on Dan Brown’s tome, director Ron Howard and leading man Tom Hanks are in need of other cast members. It appears they have one likely actress in mind, with Felicity Jones entering talks for a plum role.

Inferno finds Hanks’ symbologist Robert Langdon in Italy, grappling with amnesia and a chilling puzzle revolving around Dante’s Inferno. He’ll face a new and cunning adversary and an ingenious riddle that pulls him into a landscape of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science. And he’ll need the help of doctor Sienna Brooks, who aids him in recovering his memories even as they head out on his latest quest. If she signs, Jones will be playing the good doctor. David Koepp wrote the script for the latest film, and Howard is set to start cranking the cameras in April.

Jones is rightfully receiving plenty of plaudits for her role as Jane Hawking in** The Theory Of Everything**, which arrives here on January 1. She recently shot Eran Creevy’s car thriller Autobahn and is starring in Juan Antonio Bayona’s A Monster Calls.
