The cast building process for the sequel to 2017 hit Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle is gathering speed. Hot on the heels of word that Awkwafina will join the ensemble comes news via Variety of Danny DeVito clambering aboard.

This new film once again has the old board game featured in the 1995 adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg's book morphed into a video game, and it'll continue the story of the teens who in the most recent outing were turned into adult avatars by the mysterious title.

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Jack Black are all returning, with Jake Kasdan writing the script alongside Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg, and once more calling the shots. "The magic of Jumanji is who becomes who. And the idea of Danny DeVito joining our cast was too irresistible and something we knew we wanted to deliver to our audience this upcoming Christmas. Dwanta Claus loves everyone," Johnson said of the news.

Whatever it ends up being called, the new movie will be out on 13 December. DeVito has reunited with Tim Burton for Disney's live-action/CG retelling of Dumbo, now due on 29 March.
