Outside of his Marvel movies, Dave Bautista seems to be taking a similar track to the likes of Dwayne Johnson and Arnold Schwarzenegger, mixing up straight action work with comedy. Now he's reached a point both hit in their careers: the cute kid action movie. Peter Segal is set to direct Bautista in My Spy.
Jon and Erich Hoeber wrote the script for the film, which will find Bautista as a hardened CIA operative who finds himself at the mercy of a precocious nine-year-old girl as he goes undercover to monitor her family.
STX Films is behind this one, developing the idea for Bautista to star in. He'll next show up in Final Score (out 7 September) and is at work on another blend of action and comedy, Stuber. As for Segal, his comedy Second Act bows here on 30 November.
