Though it has recently lost backers Annapurna Pictures, comedy drama revenge pic Hustlers is still on course, moving to STX Entertainment. And the better news continues, with word that Crazy Rich Asians' Constance Wu is joining Jennifer Lopez in the film.
Director Lorene Scafaria wrote the script based on Jessica Pressler's New York Magazine article The Hustlers At Scores. The piece detailed how a savvy, real-life group of former strip club employees who join forces turn the tables on their Wall Street clients.
Lopez is playing the ringleader to the group of women, who take the idea of getting a proper cut a little too far. The script takes place in New York and the toll that the financial crisis took on the employees. The actress has also been shepherding the new film, working as a producer.
Wu, who has enjoyed huge success with Asians, is part of the cast of Low Budget Ethnic Movie.
