For some, the main highlight of Iron Fist's second season was not, er, anything in the actual show itself. It was, in fact, a brief teaser for Daredevil Season 3, with Charlie Cox's Matt Murdock at his darkest point to date.
That's saying something for a blind lawyer who dresses up in red leather and fights crime by beating people up with batons. But following the events of The Defenders, where Matt almost died when the Midland Circle building collapsed upon him, he's got a renewed sense of purpose... One that doesn't necessarily involve his legal side.
We will, of course, have to wait and see what transpires in the third season – Netflix has yet to announce a return date, but it's expected before the year is done. Vincent D'Onofrio will be back as Wilson "Kingpin" Fisk, with Joanne Whalley joining the cast as Sister Maggie, who in the comics is Matt's estranged mother and hints at the new season adapting the Born Again plotline...
