We've seen a few pictures from Luc Besson's new sci-fi adventure Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets. Now, on the eve of the teaser trailer, some fresh images have been put online. Check them out above and lower down the page.

Adapted from Pierre Christin and Jean-Claude Mézières' cult comic book series, the story finds Valerian (Dane DeHaan) and Laureline (Cara Delevingne) as special operatives for the human territories who are part of the force maintaining order in the galaxy. They're dispatched by Commander Filitt (Clive Owen) to head to the enormous city of Alpha (see it below), a sprawling, ever-evolving city that is home to thousands of species from all parts of the universe. And though it seems to be a peaceful utopia working for the good of all its inhabitants, dark forces are lurking under the surface, and the entire human race might be in danger. And by "might", we naturally mean "definitely".

Among the races they encounter are the Khortan Dahuk, the first extraterrestrial race to dock with the Alpha Space Station in the year 2135. They hail from the planet of Kas-ônar, 5,000 light-years from Earth. Organized by the quest for harmony and beauty, they are a well-traveled race with great experience and interaction with other species.
