The Blade Runner sequel doesn't yet have a confirmed title (or even just a definite numeral after its title). What it does have, however, is a growing, supremely eclectic cast around original star Harrison Ford. Eye In The Sky's Barkhad Abdi is the latest recruit.

What the actor will be doing in the film is, as you might expect, still a mystery, since the plot has not been revealed. All we know so far is that it's set decades after Ridley Scott's 1982 original and will feature Ford's Rick Deckard in some capacity.

Director Denis Villeneuve has so far gathered a roster that also includes Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Ana de Armas, Mackenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks and Carla Juri. He has a script in hand from Hampton Fancher and Michael Green and is now scheduled to start the cameras rolling next month. The film itself will be out on October 17 next year.
