WHY SHE WILL WIN With a double Golden Globe win under her belt, a double nomination for the BAFTAs, and five previous nominations testifying to her Oscar-popularity, Kate is a definite front-runner. Her outstanding form in turning out two much lauded performances in one year is rightfully celebrated, and she has been nominated so many times before that now must surely be her time.

WHY SHE WON'T WIN Elsewhere, this has been considered a Supporting role, which may confuse voters, and there may be those who would have voted for her Revolutionary Road turn but didn't like this. Also, having sent up an Oscar baiting Holocaust drama in Extras, Kate may have joked her way out of an award.
