Richard Linklater Wants YOU!
It’s not unusual for us to have visitors in the office, whether it be girls dressed up as zombies, men in Sonic the Hedgehog outfits or, occasionally, leading filmmakers. Next week we’ll be playing host to the latter as director Richard Linklater joins the ranks of lucky people to have been subjected to the Empire web chat. Richard will be online between 12:15 and 1pm on Friday 20th November where he’ll be answering your questions on anything and everything to celebrate the release of his latest film, Me And Orson Welles. So put down your copy of Modern Warfare 2 for a minute and if you need to take an early lunch next Friday then ask your boss now!

Help Avert World War III
I'm in a bit of a tricky spot, and I'm hoping that the collective wisdom of Empire readers can get me out of it. My generally delighful and lovely but rather strong-minded extended family is getting together this Christmas for my grandmothers XXth birthday* and before the big family dinner we're going to a tiny little private cinema somewhere in deepest, darkest Northern Ireland to see a movie. The question is: what movie? And specifically, since there's a film journalist in the family and she's been lumped with choosing what to watch, how am I going to avoid getting given just socks for Christmas after offending everyone with my choice?

Empire Essential: Michael Caine
Maurice Joseph Micklewhite, Jr. Sir Maurice. Sir Michael. The man, the myth, the legend... Clocking up over a hundred films to date, be they direct-to-video stinkers in the 90s, embarrassing flops in the 80s, Oscar winners or British classics, Michael Caine has brought that little sparkle to them all. His latest, Harry Brown, is no exception, making the eponymous gun-toting pensioner his own. And in celebration of all things Caine, here's his essential movies.

Video: Ang Lee On Taking Woodstock
Ang Lee is nothing if not flexible - he's done everything from Hulk to Jane Austen, and now he's tackling hippies in Taking Woodstock, the story behind the massive music festival that defined a generation. We asked him how the project came about, why he shot it as quickly as possible and why he's no longer a control freak...

Video: 2012 Interviews
2012 - otherwise known as Round 3 of Roland Emmerich Destroys The World - is out this week. To celebrate, we flew to Cancun, because we were doing our bit for the Mexican economy in these trying times, dammit, and spoke to a whole bunch of lovely people from the flick, in which the world ends in quite spectacular style. Luckily, the world hasn't yet ended, so we can bring you exclusive thoughts from stars John Cusack, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Thandie Newton and the film's director, Roland Emmerich.

Video: Jon Ronson Interview
The Men Who Stares At Goats is a deadpan delight, a true-life tale of mindbending silliness delivered with a completely straight face, based on real attempts by the US Army to develop "psychic spies" during the Cold War. Director Grant Heslov and author Jon Ronson talked us through their serious-meets-slapstick approach, why no one loves goats, and working with George Clooney.

Bruno
A patchy, hit-and-miss comedy with a few outrageous highs and a lot of just-okay padding, Brüno suggests that Sacha Baron Cohen's in-your-face fool routine sadly isn't working any more.
