First Man Of Steel TV Spot Soars In
'What do you think?'

09 April 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Warner Bros.

submit to reddit

We’ve been hearing a lot recently from Iron Man, the other big superhero due to arrive soon on our screens. But there hasn’t been much marketing for Man Of Steel, which we suppose makes sense given that A) it’s further away from release and B) this is Team Nolan we’re talking about, who tend to wait before the barrage. A new TV spot has arrived, however, which you can watch below.

Admittedly, this really is just a cut-down version of the trailers we’ve already seen (you can remind yourself of the most recent one at the bottom of the page), but sneaks in one or two flashes of new footage.

And, if we’re honest, we’re glad not to be seeing every single beat from the film before it even has a chance to unspool in our cinemas.

With Zack Snyder behind the camera, working from a script by David Goyer, Man Of Steel features Henry Cavill as the suited and booted hero himself alongside Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner, Michael Shannon, Ayelet Zurer, Antje Traue, Richard Schiff and Christopher Meloni. It lands on June 14.

Warner Bros really need to raise their game marketing wise. I don't want the ENTIRE film spoiled in advance, but half the people I know have no clue a new Superman film is just around the corner...I got a horrible feeling that the film WILL deliver (i'll be there on opening day), but it just won't cut it takings wise. The music they are using is Elegy by Lisa Gerrard from a 2006 album. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4PqWjug1Jg She is of course the one and same artist from the Gladiator soundtrack, but this is from one of her own albums not a score. Works well with the trailer though. More

Pretty much every trailer and TV spot uses music from other movies. It is rare indeed for the actual score to be aired at the time of the trailer....have a look and you'll see. More

I haven't seen if this has been mentioned yet, but isn't Zimmer being a bit lazy here? I know every composer has their style, but the start of this trailer's score and Elysium from Gladiator are basically identical... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xbHPTPUpQ1I More
