Latest Trailer For The Host Online
This is war...

14 February 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Open Road Films

Valentine’s Day seems as good a time as any to release the new trailer for a romantic sci-fi adventure, and the filmmakers behind The Host agree. Check out the latest promo for the film below.

The Host, adapted by Gattaca’s Andrew Niccol from Stephenie Meyer’s alien invasion novel, finds the Earth’s population all but assimilated by a crafty alien species that infests our brains and wipes our personalities.

Almost all of humanity is now under the control of this seemingly benign but secretive race known as “souls” and they’re working to track down the remaining pockets of resistance.

One of the unconverted humans is the strong-willed Melanie Stryder (Saoirse Ronan), who would rather die than let herself get brain-snatched. But when she’s badly injured fleeing a squad of the alien-infested humans led by The Seeker (Diane Kruger), Stryder is captured and a powerful member of the invading creatures called Wanderer is introduced to her brain, in the hopes that her memories will lead the Seeker’s forces to her rebel friends.

Yet something unexpected happens: Melanie’s personality fights back and she flees to find the resistance. Which of the minds will win out? Or will she be stuck as both? Obviously you’ll have to wait and see.

With Max Irons, Jake Abel, William Hurt and Frances Fisher also among the cast, The Host arrives on March 29.
