New Jack The Giant Slayer Trailer
Prepare for a giant adventure

Wow… It hardly seems possible that it’s nearly been a year since the last Jack The Giant Slayer trailer. Back then, it was called Jack The Giant Killer and set to arrive in June of this year. Take a look at some new footage in the promo above, or thunder over to Apple’s kingdom to see it in true HD.

For this latest trailer, we get more details on the storyline, including how young farmhand Jack (Nicholas Hoult) meets the brave princess Isabelle (Eleanor Tomlinson) and together they get mixed up in a big giant adventure(literally, since it involves giants).

The real villain here is – spoiler alert from the trailer – Stanley Tucci’s Lord Roderick, who is manipulating things from behind the scenes and manufactures Isabelle’s abduction so as to prompt a rescue mission by Jack and knight Elmont (Ewan McGregor), which in turn sparks an invasion of the human world by the big fellas.

Director Bryan Singer has assembled a cast that includes Ian McShane, Warwick Davis, Eddie Marsan, Ewen Bremner and Bill Nighy. And, on narrator duties (for the trailer and likely the movie), Ian McKellen.

With more of the VFX work complete this time, we get a broader sense of the scope, and Singer’s definitely going for epic fantasy. Can it compete in a Lord Of The Rings/Hobbit world? We’ll find out on March 22 when it stomps into UK cinemas.

Brave Princess?
So there's a "brave princess Isabelle," is there? Would that be yet another female character introduced with lines such as, "I'm looking for an adventure," so that we can then have yet another princess who: 1. Disguises herself to walk amongst commoners! Ooh, feisty! 2. Gets captured! Ooh... captured. 3. Spends pretty much the rest of the movie getting swung from one thing to the other in the hero's arms! Wow. Wonder if she'll kiss him for luck, or mid-air, catching More

Benefit of the doubt.
I dunno, this looks like it could be fun. Comparisons to Clash of the Titans are interesting, because they should have been simple fun, but they felt the need to make it "dark". This could be more in the spirit of Stardust, which I very much enjoyed. Here's hoping. More

RE: New Jack The Giant Slayer Trailer
L: Jasper_29 It looks far too intense for children and too childish for adults. Also, wasn't this supposed to be part live-action, part animation like Alice in Wonderland? And now to altered it to make it more like a fantasy film like The Hobbit? es all I see is CGI backdrops and animation in this trailer, the only thing that looks kinda real is the Actors...so very much like Tim Burtons AIW More

Oh dear...
...those giants look... TERRIBLE. Like a whole movie dedicated to those appalling Cyclopses in Wrath of the Titans. Bad. More
