Latest Epic Trailer Drops In
Can the Leaf Men save us?

The first trailer for Fox Animation/Blue sky’s new adventure ‘toon Epic focused more on the leafy heroes of the piece. While they’re still a big part of this second promo, we get even more of the story in this latest snippet. Check it out above or head to Apple’s enchanted web forest to see it in full HD.

We’re properly introduced to Mary Katherine (voiced by Amanda Seyfried), who has always heard from her dad that there are tiny warriors living in the forest that protect both it and us from evil.

Then she gets a chance to meet them, including Nod (Josh Hutcherson) and Ronin (Colin Farrell), some of the Leaf Men who are engaged in fighting off the tyranny of Mandrake (Christoph Waltz).

As glimpsed in the previous footage, there are also side characters, such as Aziz Ansari’s slug Mub, who clearly fancies himself a playa.

It comes off as a wild ride based on William Joyce’s 1996 book The Leaf Men And The Brave Good Bugs, with just a dash of Honey, I Shrunk The Kids. Could be fun - especially in the aftermath of the Joyce-based Rise Of The Guardians, which augurs well for this. Epic will be out here on May 24.
