Second Trailer For The Host Online
Love will tear us apart. Or save us...

13 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: YouTube

Turns out Will Smith, Aaron Eckhart, Tom Cruise and Lukas Haas were all wrong. You don’t need weapons (or country music) to fight off an alien invasion. You just need emotions. Actually, based on this trailer for The Host, the weapons might still come in handy (maybe not the music). Check out the new footage above.

Following on the heels of the poster comes this new promo, which uses more of the material from the Comic-Con presentation we saw back in July.

Saoirse Ronan stars as Melanie Stryder, a human girl living on a near-future Earth that has been almost completely taken over by the ‘Souls’, a parasitic alien race that takes over human bodies by infiltrating the brain and replacing the consciousness with their own.

But when Melanie is captured and the alien Wanderer is inserted under emergency conditions, the new arrival in her mind-space finds that she’s not quite so easy to dismiss. The process forms a dual personality with Melanie and Wanda – as Wanderer becomes named – finding a home with the human resistance. Of course, that brings its own challenges. And there are the men that they love, Jared Howe (Max Irons) and Ian O’Shea (Jake Abel).

Can the two personalities share one head? And will Melanie be able to help resistance leaders such as Jeb Stryder (William Hurt) battle alien commanders including The Seeker (Diane Kruger)? We’ll find out on March 29 next year.

The vid linked to has been blocked. Watched it on traileraddict, Looks okay but nowt special, Having said that Niccol has a decent track record and Ronan lifts anything she's in so could well be worth a look More
