Latest Poster For The Host Online
Saoirse Ronan is facing an invasion

12 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Fandango

As the curtain begins to fall on Twilight, Stephenie Meyer still has another product of her imagination getting set to hit cinemas: alien invasion love triangle adventure The Host. The latest poster (Hoster?) for the film is online at Fandango and below.

While the earlier advertising has focused almost totally on Saoirse Ronan’s possessed eye, now the rest of her face and two of her co-stars, Jake Abel and Max Irons, actually get a look in.

Adapted and directed by Andrew Niccol, The Host follows the aftermath of a bodysnatcher-style alien invasion. Alien parasites have taken over the human race, replacing the target’s personality with the alien consciousness. But when Melanie Stryder is subjected to the process, the invader, known as Wanderer, finds that her sense of self is a little stronger than most.

The result is a dual personality known as Wanda, who goes to join the human resistance. Naturally, that causes problems, especially when she/they become embroiled with both Abel’s Ian O’Shea and Irons’ Jared Howe. But can Melanie help them fight back, or will Wanderer win out and assist its kind in completely ruling the planet?

We’ll find out for sure when The Host creeps into our cinemas on March 29. Check out the teaser trailer below.
