First Hitchcock Clip Arrives
New pics and a featurette also online

13 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo

If you were thinking to yourself, “Hhhm… it’s been at least a month. I wonder what’s up with that Hitchcock film?”, wonder no more! Courtesy of Yahoo (and Fox Searchlight), the first clip from the movie is online, and you can check it out above.

With Sacha Gervasi calling the shots, Anthony Hopkins plays the titular auteur, struggling to make his latest, Psycho.

Facing problems with US censors, studio indifference and the denigration of peers who think that making a psychological horror is beneath him, Hitch pushes on, ably supported by wife/partner Alma Reville (Helen Mirren).

Of course, we know with hindsight how Psycho turned out, but the story of its difficult birth and the strain it put on the relationship between Hitch and Alma is one worth telling.

It’s not just a day for a clip, oh no. There are also new pictures, which feature some of the other cast members including Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, Toni Collette, James D’Arcy, Danny Huston, Ralph Macchio and Kurtwood Smith.

There’s even a featurette with the cast and crew talking up the movie. Why, Monsieur ‘itchcock, you are spoiling us! The film arrives in the UK on February 8.

Your Comments

I'd heard that Hitchcock allegedly had affairs with some of his leading ladies, so that would complicate the picture painted here. Anthony Hopkins looks oddly like Mike Myers in some of the shots there. Helen Mirren is a breathtakingly beautiful woman. A GILF, yes. More
