Fresh Les Misérables Character Posters
Baron Cohen and Bonham Carter assemble

02 November 2012  |  Written by Ali Plumb  |  Source: Universal Pictures

As Tom Hooper's cinematic adaptation of Les Misérables has such a stellar cast including Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Anne Hathaway, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne, Samantha Barks, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter perhaps it's no surprise that there have been so many character posters unveiled in advance of its release.

The latest batch boast Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street stalwarts Sacha Baron Cohen (as thief-cum-innkeeper Thénardier) and Helena Bonham Carter (as his unscrupulous wife, Madame Thénardier), who both pull odd faces at the poster designer's camera: Baron Cohen's nonplussed, Bonham Carter's distainful.

Then there's Eddie Redmayne's Marius Pontmercy and Amanda Seyfried's Cosette, not-quite-locked in a loving lean either side of a metal gate, the forbidden romance between the two paramours symbolised by an unfortunately placed piece of garden equipment.

Other character posters can be found below, as well as the trailer to boot.

Confusingly, because the US and the UK have different release dates, certain posters have the "wrong" day on them. For the record, Les Misérables is out on December 25 in America and on January 11 in the UK.

Eponine...
I think they should release an Eponine poster as she is a very important character and it shouldn't matter Samantha Barks isn't as well known as the others yet. More

Eponine?
Still waiting for a poster with the beautiful Samantha Barks. Perhaps they're only going for the 'big' names but Eponine is a pivotal character and Sam I'm sure is going to be fab. More
