New Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters Promo
No mercy for the wicked

The first trailer for the long-delayed fantasy romp Hansel And Gretel: Witch Hunters arrived last month, and did little to calm worries that it was held because of story issues. Now here’s the US Red Band promo, which ups the gore content and also lets Jeremy Renner’s Hansel get in a few quips to boot. Take a look above.

Hansel & Gretel follows the brother-sister team, Hansel and Gemma Arterton's Gretel, who were traumatised by their run-in with a crone as children. Instead of retreating from the world, they roam, taking down cackling witches wherever they threaten local villages.

Armed with sophisticated (for medieval / fairytale times, at least) weaponry, the pair have become a well-oiled witch-slaughtering service. But their latest mission isn’t going quite to the usual schedule. Instead, the dangerous creatures appear to be hunting them – and things get worse when they kidnap Gretel.

This trailer might not quite be enough to convince everyone, but it does nudge the entertainment-o-meter needle a little further into the green. We’ve also heard some positive buzz on this one, so we’ll wait and see when the full film arrives on March 15.
