A New Hobbit TV Spot Online
UPDATE: Second spot arrives

The release of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is getting tantalisingly close. While you wait for that and enjoy our new, exclusive Hobbit coverage, why not check out the first TV spot for the movie, which is now online? Watch it above!

Focusing on titular hero Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman), this spot has a few new nuggets of footage, including shots from Bilbo and the Dwarves’ perilous journey, scrawny troublemaker Gollum and Richard Armitage’s Thorin Oakenshield making a less-than satisfied judgement of Bilbo’s fighting prospects.

We all know that Gandalf (Ian McKellen) is able to encourage our hero to go on the trip as The Hobbit: A Pleasant Evening In Front Of The Fire probably wouldn’t be all that exciting. And definitely wouldn’t lead to The Hobbit: A Comfy Night In One’s Own Bed and The Hobbit: Eggs For Breakfast.

With Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Hugo Weaving and Cate Blanchett also among the sprawling cast, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey wanders into our cinemas on December 14.

UPDATE: And if your excitement levels are peaking thanks to our extraordinary Hobbit issue (check out the details here), you'll be happy to hear another TV spot has arrived. Check it out below.
