New Poster For Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock
Hopkins, Mirren, Johansson - together

09 October 2012  |  Written by Ali Plumb

A tip of the electronic cap in the direction of EW.com for sourcing this new poster for Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock biopic, Hitchcock.

The previous teaser poster, however, looked a lot like this, concentrating on Hopkins (and a knife-cum-tie) rather than, say, Scarlett Johansson in a car.

The posters follow in the footsteps of another batch of photos seen yesterday, including Johansson looking uncannily like Janet Leigh, James D’Arcy as Anthony Perkins and Hitch himself, once again in profile.

For those not already in the know, Sacha Gervasi's (Anvil! The Story of Anvil) take on Hitchcock follows the difficult production of Psycho, which faced criticism because of its horror thriller nature and had only a small budget. Add to that issues with the cast and crew and Hitch’s own personal life, and it’s a wonder the movie came out as well as it did.

Alongside Hopkins, Johannson and D'Arcy, we’ve got Helen Mirren as his wife, Alma; Jessica Biel as Vera Miles and Michael Stuhlbarg as agent Lew Wasserman. Danny Elfman, meanwhile, will be providing the score.

Hitchcock is set for a February 8 UK release, with US Hitch lovers getting their chance to watch it on November 23. And for more Hitch fun, be sure to check out our movie posters mash-ups on The Master Of Suspence thisaway...

RE: New Poster For Sacha Gervasi's Hitchcock
Really nice poster and everybody involved looks like they fit their roles perfectly. Consider me interested. More

The Girl
Further to an earlier comment, The Girl is an HBO production and will be shown on the BBC in December, I can't find a specific date but there are a few trailers out there for this. As a Hitchcock fan myself I look forward to watching both The Girl and Hitchcock. As far as Hitchcock films, I prefer Psycho to The Birds. More

I feel they missed a trick not getting Andrew Garfield to play Anthony Perkins. I can't think an actor more suited to a role. More

RE: Would rather see The Girl!
According to Empire today it will be getting released in the U.S in November while us Brits will be getting it on the 8th February. The pictures so far, especially of Hopkins as the big man himself haven't enticed me to want to go see this yet. I think I'll hold my breath for when the first teaser comes along. More

Would rather see The Girl!
Have to be honest I prefer The Birds over Psycho so I'm more interested in catching the upcoming BBC film, The Girl, about his relationship with Tippi Hedren than this film... any news on this? Last I read it was supposed to be showing late October for Halloween. More
